Licensure

To work as a Physical Therapist Assistant, you must graduate from an accredited physical therapist assistant education program and a license is required in the State of Florida. This license requires that you pass the National Physical Therapist Assistant Examination (NPTAE) offered through the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy and also pass the State of Florida Board of Physical Therapy Laws and Rules Examination.

MDC graduates are qualified to apply to the State Board of Physical Therapy for permission to complete the National Physical Therapy Assistant Examination (NPTAE) process. Upon satisfactory completion, applicants become licensed physical therapist assistants.
