Ismare Monreal
Ismare Monreal is acting vice president and dean of students at Johnson & Wales University. A proud MDC alumna, she is an experienced leader having spent more than 21 years as a higher education administrator implementing inclusive program strategies, championing collaboration, refining operations and driving organizational growth.
She has worked extensively on issues of representation, access to education, community service, and servicing at-risk populations. Her areas of focus include nonprofit organizations, student affairs, leadership development, and admissions. Previously, she was a senior legislative assistant at the Florida House of Representatives.
Ms. Monreal has volunteered with the United Way of Miami-Dade, Archdiocese of Miami Marriage and Family Ministry and A Safe Haven for Newborns. She earned an associate degree from MDC, a bachelor’s from Florida International University and master’s in business administration from the University of Phoenix.
